Tv Shows

How I Met Your Mother is a sitcom that spanned nine seasons from 2005 to 2014. The series follows Ted Mosby and his increasingly lengthy search for love. A lot of the lessons from this show I've taken to heart, and I think it's a beautiful story about the things that bring us to the current moment.

Malcolm in the Middle is a sitcom with six seasons, airing from 2000 to 2006. It follows Malcolm and his family, dealing with their misadventures as a hectic family, as well as their very real struggles with poverty. The show came to me at a time in my life where I was the sickest I'd ever been right before the biggest vacation of my life, and it was the only thing other than eating plain rice that brought me any comfort.

My Name Is Earl is a sitcom (yes, I like sitcoms, I confess) that lasted from 2005 to 2009 before getting canceled after the 4th season. The series follows small-time criminal Earl Hickey, who discovers the idea of "Karma" and dedicates his time to fixing all of his wrongdoings. This show provides a unique perspective on, well, perspective. The way one's beliefs shape their world. It's a shame this show was canceled.

Music

The Rare Occasions are an indie rock band formed in Boston in 2012. The current members are Jeremy Cohen and Brian McLaughlin (left to right) [The status of their third band member is unknown after they got into drama during a concert]. Their music fills me with a sense of hope, and the impact it's had on me is unmistakable.

Billy Strings is a bluegrass musician, currently with four studio albums. I've only recently been exposed to his music, but I think it's truly wonderful! I have so much more to listen to, but I hope I get to it soon.
